On November 19th, we joined the protest against the New Education policy organised by the CBCI jointly by various secular organizations and United Christians’ Forum. The Protest began at 10.00 am with the shouting of slogans demanding the withdrawal of the proposed new Educational policy which is very much saffronised and neglecting the poor, the minorities and the downtrodden. Some Muslim leaders, political parties comprising about 350 people from the state of Tamilnadu took part in the protest rally that began at Mandi House and ended at the Parliament street. There were talks organized in the venue in which senior political leaders belonging to non-BJP members and people representing various minority religions, Human activist groups and Educationists addressed the gathering. The SAMAG committee of Vidyajyoti College took students from VidyaJyoti and held a major role in the rally. The committee helped the core committee in arranging food, accommodation, travel etc. for the people who had travelled from Tamilnadu and various other parts of the country. VidyaJyoti too accommodated a few staff members and AICUF students from our Jesuit institutions in Tamilnadu, who took part in the protest rally.
